OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM REAL BETIS ON THE SIGNING OF ANTONY

Real Betis Balompié and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the loan of Antony for the current season. 

Antony Matheus dos Santos (Sao Paulo, Brazil, 24/02/2000) began his professional career as a footballer at Sao Paulo, making his debut with the first team in 2018. 

After two and a half seasons with the Brazilian team, he made the leap to European football with Ajax in February 2020. The Brazilian stood out during his time in the Netherlands with 24 goals in 82 matches, also winning two league titles and a Dutch Cup. 

His impressive stats led him to join Manchester United in the summer of 2022, a team with which he won the League Cup and the FA Cup. 

The new Betis signing has represented the Brazilian national team, participating in the 2022 World Cup and winning the Olympic gold in 2021.
