Celta de Vigo have several players on the way out in this January transfer market: Anastasios Douvikas, Luca de la Torre, Joseph Aidoo, and Jonathan Bamba. The latter is the closest to leaving the club, as reported by transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano, the Celta de Vigo has reached a preliminary agreement with Chicago Fire for Jonathan Bamba to depart.

After the forward repeatedly turned down proposals from various leagues in recent weeks, the celestial club is on the verge of closing a key deal. Jonathan Bamba's salary is one of the highest in the squad led by Claudio Giráldez. Although his performance was not unsatisfactory for the coach, the winger did not meet the expectations set by his signing.

While finalizing the last details of the transaction, all signs point to the Ivorian international footballer joining Chicago Fire.
