One of the questions that Barcelona fans (as well as fans of other teams) are asking at this point is why there is such urgency with registering Dani Olmo, if the transfer market reopens tomorrow. The answer can be found in the General Regulations of the RFEF, more specifically in article 130.2.

This article establishes that: "A footballer may be registered with only one team of a club, without the possibility of being deregistered and registered again by the same club during the same season, except in cases of force majeure or regulatory provision. Likewise, during the season, they may not be registered and play for more than three different teams."

That means that if Dani Olmo's registration is not resolved before midnight, it will be annulled and cannot be registered again this season. Not tomorrow, not within a week, not before the winter transfer market closes. He wouldn't be able to return to play with Barcelona for the remainder of the season.
