The English full-back is almost a Real Madrid player. Real Madrid, confident, expects to finalize his signing in January, although his effective arrival will be in the summer.

According to the AS newspaper, the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold seems to be firmly leaning towards Real Madrid. At 25 years old, the English right-back, close friend of Jude Bellingham, is increasingly farther from Anfield and closer to Chamartín. The conversations between the player and the white club are advanced, with a virtually sealed verbal agreement, although the signing will have to wait until January 1st, the date allowed by FIFA regulations to negotiate with players in the last six months of their contract.

Liverpool has not managed to convince Alexander-Arnold to renew. Meanwhile, Real Madrid, aware of the generational replacement needs in its squad, is speeding up to secure one of the most talented full-backs in Europe. Dani Carvajal will turn 33 years old in January, and although he remains an important figure, his continuity at the highest level is not guaranteed. Doubts surrounding Lucas Vázquez, considered a good substitute but far from the level required to be an undisputed starter, have led the club to prioritize this operation.

Friendly agreement with Liverpool

Real Madrid has handled the process with caution and respect towards Liverpool, notifying in advance their interest in Alexander-Arnold, as dictated by the regulations. The good relationship between both institutions has allowed the English to permit the player to explore his future, although not without maintaining hope of securing his continuity. However, the full-back's will seems unmovable: his goal is to wear white and share the dressing room with Bellingham, with whom he has had a great relationship since their time in the English national team.

A farewell on good terms

Despite the optimism in Madrid, the move will not materialize until next summer. Alexander-Arnold wants to leave Liverpool in a respectful manner, avoiding a mid-season departure that would be seen as a betrayal in his hometown. Born and raised in Liverpool, the player embodies the values of the Reds' academy, where he has been an idol and a role model for years
