Medical report on Gayá and estimated recovery time
José Luis Gayà, captain of Valencia CF, raised the alarm last Saturday at Mestalla by not coming out onto the field after half-time in the match against Rayo Vallecano. Rubén Baraja, in the press conference after the game, confirmed that the left-back felt a twinge in the hamstrings, which led to his substitution.

The team enjoys a rest day this Monday, but will resume training tomorrow at the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna, where they will begin preparations for the crucial visit to Valladolid next Friday. Meanwhile, Gayà will undergo medical tests to determine the extent of the injury that jeopardizes his availability at a decisive moment of the season.
The full-back, who only returned to competition last October 21st after recovering from a rectus femoris injury that required surgery and kept him out for five months, now faces a new physical challenge. However, the club assures that this hamstring discomfort is not related to his previous injury. It adds to the bad news of the Mamardashvili's injury that we reported a few minutes ago.
Initial diagnosis
According to journalist Germán Muñoz, Gayà could have a micro-tear in the hamstrings and could be out for around 2 weeks.

Upcoming matches
The possible absence of Gayà would represent a significant setback for Baraja, given the demanding schedule that Valencia faces in the coming weeks. In December, the white-and-blacks will play key matches against direct rivals: on Friday in Valladolid, on Wednesday 18 against Espanyol, and on Sunday 22 against Alavés at Mestalla. They will also face Real Madrid possibly on January 3rd at Mestalla.
