Jules Koundé's starting spot this weekend against UD Las Palmas could be up in the air after playing six consecutive matches as a starter in three weeks (between Barcelona and the French national team). The full-back traveled with the French national team and played in two matches, in addition to the 90 minutes against Celta and Stade Brest.

Despite being a key player for Hansi Flick and the German coach finding it difficult to rest him (the two matches where he didn't start were due to a punishment imposed by Flick for arriving late to pre-match meetings). With a schedule as tight as the one the culé club has and after Alejandro Balde's mandatory rest due to muscle discomfort, Flick could manage the minutes of some of his players.

Next Tuesday, Barcelona will play against Mallorca, a match corresponding to matchday 19 of the league (brought forward due to the dispute of the Supercopa in January). Therefore, with only three days of rest, Flick could give Koundé a break to avoid overloading.
