Alejandro Balde is fully recovered from his hamstring discomfort and ready to return to the starting eleven under Hansi Flick. This discomfort kept the FC Barcelona left-back out of the squad for the past weekend's match against Celta de Vigo at Balaidos. Yesterday, he was able to train with the rest of the group, and the sensations were very positive.
Despite that, the German coach ruled out his starting position for the match that the Blaugrana team played today against Stade Brestois 29: "Balde had muscle problems last week, and before the match, he was in the same condition, we thought he could play, but it was not possible. Today he was better and may be an option for other matches but not for tomorrow."
He made it to the squad and today he had some minutes, precisely 15. Balde had enough time to set up Robert Lewandowski's 3-0 in the 92nd minute.
FC Barcelona hosts UD Las Palmas next Saturday at the Montjuic Olympic Stadium, and if there are no last-minute setbacks, Alejandro Balde will return to the starting lineup.
During these two matches where he couldn't start, Gerard Martín and Héctor Fort have filled in for his absence.
