Yes, now we all boast about taking advantage of the Tour during the hot and soporific afternoons of July to take a nap, but there was a time when this was not the case, and it was mainly thanks to two very different guys who only shared sport and team, we are talking, of course, about Perico and Miguel. One was pure breed, bursts of fury in the middle of the Pyrenees that would lift you off the sofa like a spring, the other, impassive and cool, would climb his 90 kilograms to the summits of the Alps with astonishing calmness. Both left the winding French roads strewn with sporting corpses of blond hair and blue eyes for greater national pride, leaving the national press without words to praise such feats.
