Borja Mayoral has already gone four consecutive matches without being able to play a single minute with Getafe since his last game on October 5, when he played the last 45 minutes against Osasuna at the Coliseum. Now, the Spanish forward, who scored 15 goals last season before his injury, has decided to take a step forward to leave this situation behind. Mayoral will start treatment with a renowned specialized physiotherapist who works with elite players, the same one who works with figures like Oriol Romeu, a player from FC Barcelona on loan to Girona.

The goal is for Mayoral to rejoin the team within a five to six-week timeframe, which would imply his potential return for the last matchday of the league, scheduled for the weekend of December 21 and 22. If he does not recover in time, his return could be for the Copa del Rey round at the beginning of January, or, in case of Getafe's elimination, for the first league match of 2025, which will be played on the weekend of January 11 and 12.
