Villarreal's footballer Nicolas Pépé has been released from the Ivory Coast national team due to muscle discomfort. The forward is awaiting medical tests to clearly determine the extent of the injury.

Pépé joins the list of injured players after a match in which Ilias Akomach also fell (he bids farewell to the rest of the season), Kiko Femenia (awaiting medical results), and Thierno Barry (shoulder dislocation).
