Villarreal's full-back, Alfonso Pedraza, underwent surgery today to address the ankle problems he has been dealing with since he got injured last January. As confirmed by the yellow club in an official medical report, the player underwent an exploratory arthroscopy on his right ankle performed by Dr. Niek Van Dijk.

Regarding the player's time off, he is expected to be out for approximately three months and hopes to be fit to play by the end of January. Marcelino expressed less optimism in statements made on "El Tercer Tiempo": “it's unlikely that the player will be able to play this season”.

The player's environment also estimates the three-month break.
