Lamine Yamal will not be available for the Spanish national team in the final matches of the UEFA Nations League group stage. In response to this absence, Luis de la Fuente has called up Bryan Gil to take his place and added the Girona player to the roster for these games.

This was officially announced by the Royal Spanish Football Federation: "After the medical services of the Spanish National Team analyzed the report sent by FC Barcelona, Lamine Yamal has been ruled out due to injury for the upcoming matches of the national team."

On this occasion, the player called up is Bryan Gil, a player for Girona FC. It is not his first time with the national team, but it will be his debut under Luis de la Fuente's leadership in the senior team, after having played for him in the Olympic team, with whom they won the silver medal in Tokyo 2020. His debut with the national team took place on March 25, 2021 against Greece, in the qualifying match for the 2022 World Cup, then coached by Luis Enrique. Since his first call-up, Gil has played in four matches, providing an assist, although he had not been called up since 2021.
